Producer, BBC Responds All-China Bakery Association’s Business Cooperation to Develop Indonesian SMEs
Jakarta, July 26, 2019/Indonesia Media – Local producer of equipment for bakery, catering, restaurant and hotel responded to the business cooperation between Bogasari Baking Center/BBC and All-China Bakery Association which accommodated Chinese bakery and pastry industries. “We are supposed to help Bogasari (producer for variety of wheat flour) develop business better for Indonesian small medium enterprises (SMEs) in bakery and pastry,” Vera Umbara (Yu Zhen Zhen), Indonesian private producer of equipments said.
China Association of Bakery is a mass organization composed by voluntary enterprises and industrial companies for production of bread, bakery, pastry, biscuits, candies, chocolate, crystal sugar, frozen food (ice cream, Eskimo pie, ice candies and etc.), instand food (instant noodles, instant rice noodles, instant rice, instant porridge and etc.), preserved fruits, snacks and etc. It is a nation-wide transregional and transdepartment organization that neither gains profit nor cares for ownership. It is an entity of a mass organization and a class one state level association. It is State Administration of State Property that controls the professional operation of the association.
Delegates of All-China Bakery Association met with Bogasari’s management in Cilincing street, Tanjung Priok, north Jakarta on Thursday (25th July). The delegates of Association visited and saw the various processes of wheat flour, spaghetti and pasta. They learned to see that BBC has helped to improve people’s life skills, especially food processing and creations. The program of learn about flour, bakery, Pastry has been very effective in 26 branches of BBC. Some big cities such as Palembang, Purwokerto, Aceh, Surabaya, Semarang, etc recruit participants, including Bogasari’s workers who will be retired. “The outcome of the program of SMEs empowerment in bakery and pastry, they are expected to become successful food entrepreneurs. They can produce food, especially bakery, pastry with good quality,” Vera said.
Meanwhile, Director of Bogasari, Franciscus Welirang said that the program of SMEs empowerment in bakery throughout Indonesia is relevant to the mission of BBC establishment. Every participants of BBC learn to practice the theory and follow hands on method of food processing. The ratio is 20 percent for theory and 80 percent for hands on method. “We need to modernize (business of bakery) and use good equipment which is still very expensive and rare in the market. Most of the equipments are imported from China, Japan. Participants of BBC’s program will get certificates by the time they finish attending. The certificate is used for reference of doing business and working in company,” said Franciscus Welirang.
Some producers of bakery equipments, including Guataka Makmur insists upon the standardization for high standardization and certification of food processing. Some chefs do not use good equipments with good standard. One of the examples is mixer in which chefs still use pail or basin which is made of plastic. This is not hygienic. Baking on a fire should be appropriate otherwise the carbon dioxide will produce bad processing,” said Vera. (SL/IM)
