Jakarta, September 4, 2023/Indonesia Media – During the meeting with China Construction Materials Rental Contractor Association (CMRA) delegates in Jakarta, Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI) may possibly decide to collaborate on any forms such as knowledge exchange and strengthen professional networking. The role of architects will determine the uses of designs for new construction projects, alterations and redevelopments. “One decade ahead, Indonesia will focus on plenty of IKN (new capital city) development and several prioritised tourist destinations. At the moment, the government is pushing strategic developments, which are done rapidly while still prioritizing sustainability,” said the Vice General Secretary of IAI Firman Herwanto during the meeting in South Quarter, Jakarta.

In the context of IKN development, Indonesia only has one chance to move and rebuild the capital city. Therefore, it is hoped that construction technologies that will be used in development at IKN will adopt the latest technologies and be eco-friendly. In Asia, China is known for its rapid construction technologies. “If CMRA has the latest technology products designed to build that could support rapid developments, zero waste and sustainability, IAI is open to inviting CMRA to display those technologies at the biggest annual architecture forum which will be held on early next year,” said Firman Herwanto.

Meanwhile, the head of delegation to CMRA, Mr. Li Liang welcomed IAI’s proposal to collaborate with each other. Therefore he needed to confirm and explore possibilities of collaboration to participate in some projects in Indonesia. He needed to make sure, what will the scale of developments in Indonesia be like in the future. “What kind of construction technologies are required?. will it build more infrastructure or buildings?, especially relating to scaffolding and formwork technologies. Are there plenty of projects using high tech scaffolding and formwork in Indonesia?,” said Li Liang.

He also assured IAI about the position of CMRA on market ranking. CMRA’s members rank 14th (fourteenth) among Global Top 100 Leasing Service Providers (IRN100). They also rank 3rd (third) among Global Top 50 Aerial Work Platform Rental Companies (ACCESS 50). “Our members also rank among China Top 10 Construction Machinery Rental Companies and China Top 10 MEWP Rental Companies at the T50 Summit of World Construction Machinery Industry,” said Li Liang.
