2016 LIGHTS ON MIRACLE HILL “A Christmas Promise”

2016 LIGHTS ON MIRACLE HILL “A Christmas Promise”

unnamed-1City Blessing Church formerly located in Claremont and Temple City, moved to the City of Walnut four years ago with its vision to spread the Gospel and bless the community. Since then, the Church has actively been involved with city events such as the Walnut Family Festival and Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast, also hosting the annual Easter Eggstravaganza and Lights on Miracle Hill Christmas light festival to bless the community.

City Blessing Church launched “Lights on Miracle Hill” three years ago, taking place during the four weekends in the month of December to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ and to celebrate it with the community. Lights on Miracle Hill is an exquisite holiday event for the community to enjoy the beautiful light displays that have been designed for the Christmas Season.unnamed

This event will encompass not only a decorative light display, but also a fun narrative Christmas show. Each year it offers a different story, programmed and synchronized, with the music as the main attraction. This year’s show presents “A Christmas Promise”, a 15-minute show that will run approximately every 45 minutes. Each night will bring a cheerful atmosphere with many holiday refreshments to enjoy at the café.

This is the third year that City Blessing Church hosted Lights on Miracle Hill. Approximately 500,000 lights are used at this year’s light display. By the end of December, an excess of 10,000 man-hours will be spent on this effort by countless number of volunteers in accomplishing this event.

On Saturday, December 3 at 7 PM, was Lights on Miracle Hill’s Grand Opening to the community. Over 900 visitors came, including special guests, Mayor of Walnut, Mr. Eric Ching, Mayor of West Covina, Mr. Corey Warshaw, the Council Members of both cities of Walnut and West Covina, Representatives of Los Angeles County Supervisor, Representative of the Indonesian Consulate, and Representative of the Philippine Consulate. It was a night to remember as the first light show was lit at the joined sound of the community shouting, “Flip the Switch!” as both Mayors, and Senior Pastor, Paul Tan, of City Blessing Church literally flipped the switch.
