Empty seats mark House’s 65th anniversary

The House of Representatives celebrates its 65th anniversary today, however empty seats were evident during the plenary session commemorating the event.

The session was led by the House speaker, the Democratic Party’s Marzuki Alie, and was attended by only around 300 out of 560 legislators.

During the session, Marzuki said that the House was committed to endorsing at least 50 percent of its targeted 70 priority bills into laws by 2010.

Marzuki thanked the press and the media for its role in continuously monitoring the House doing its job.
