Passers-by, Festival Goers Prepares for Chinese New Year of Wood Snake 2025

Jakarta, January 16, 2025/Indonesia Media – Looking forward to Chinese new year or Imlek (spring festival) 2025 especially in some China towns, passers-by have packed preparing for yearly routine and long tradition of family gathering with distinctive cuisine and red envelope 利是 which is actually a gift of money given during the celebration. Besides, some families usually prepare themselves for religious rituals in some Chinese temples during the celebration. Some hotel owners also use the right moment of Imlek festival by organizing some events in which festival goers feel a warm family gathering. “We are having an event, (namely) Kids Fashion Contest (KFC) in which the participants are those who are still sitting in primary school. They wear Imlek festival dresses thematically, which is usually red, such is its dominance,” said the general manager of Sapphire Sky hotel & conference, Yohanes Parwoto
Spring Festival is the most important holiday in the Chinese cultural calendar. It is seen as a time of family reunions and re-connection, prompting separated members to cross long distances and sit together at one table. No matter how far parents or their offspring have to travel in China, they are always willing to make the journey home during the Chinese New Year. In the eyes of the Chinese people, the Spring Festival is closely connected with the concept of family. Chinese people attach great importance to the family feast, a very important part of Spring Festival celebrations. “Since we have made the acquisition of the hotel three years ago, we try to improve services to our guests with an ambience of comfort for family gathering. The hotel management also improves the system of services, creating an ambience of friendly family, though during weekdays, (filled with) business ambience. And KFC is directly relevant to the hotel’s ambience,” said Yohanes Parwoto.
The Year 2025’s Chinese zodiac, with its characteristics, is the year of the wood snake. Starting from January 29, 2025 and lasting until February 16, 2026, some people may seek the message in which snakes are associated with good luck, prosperity, fertility and longevity. “Therefore we design the event of KFC with a few accessories of wood snake, while providing promo food and beverages for the Imlek festival.
