Los Angeles City Blessing Church successfully held the Convergence 2011 on Saturday,
October 8, 2011. This was a combined outing for the churches in Claremont and Temple City.
The purpose of this outing was to Discover, Connect, and Unite. The location of the event was at
Frank G. Bonelli Park in San Dimas, CA and approximately five hundred people attended
Toxic Waste Game
It was a day of fun-filled games that required communication and teamwork. Each team
consisted of twelve people from the two churches and ages ranging from ten to seventy. There
were a variety of games, some requiring strategies, some requiring physical activity.
Pipeline Game
The most popular game was the obstacle course where teams had to race through and get the
fastest time.
Children younger than ten were put into child care and enjoyed popcorn and cotton candy.
Another jumper was available specifically designated for the children to play with.

Convergence 2011 was part of the consolidation process that the Claremont and Temple City
City Blessing Churches are going through. Eventually Claremont and Temple City will unite.
That’s why it is the time for the congregation to Discover, Connect and Unite.

The atmosphere was great, the weather was perfect, and the food was wonderful. Lunch was
generously donated by Panda Express, leaving stomachs full and spirits high.
After lunch, there was a brief moment of praise and worship and a message from Pastor Paul
Tan (Senior Pastor of LACBC) before the final results for door prizes were announced.

There was a raffle for three pairs of Disneyland tickets and several other home appliances.

By the end of day, everyone had the experience of meeting someone new and forming
relationships that will last a lifetime.
