Indonesia Fashion Week (IFW) Icon 2025, Vebby Has Keys to a Successful Career at a Young Age

Jakarta, July 1, 2025/Indonesia Media – Vebby Aurelia (Tham Vee Chen), one of the icons of Indonesia Fashion Week (IFW) 2025, claimed that she had been half asleep amidst a fashion show, doing backstage preparations during the second day of IFW in Jakarta Convention Centre (JCC) Senayan (28 May – 1 June 2025). At a Young Age, she never gets tired of achieving creams and a bright future as a professional model. She makes attempts for punctuality and attendance at fashion events, preparing herself as an icon, and yet a bit tough to experience fashion shows. Being a model, particularly those in the fashion industry, she really focuses on maintaining a healthy lifestyle and consuming nutrient-rich foods to support her physical needs and appearance. This often involves a balanced diet rich in whole foods, proteins, and healthy fats. “(I am) going on a diet and yet my favorite food to gobble. It is a bit tough, but I really feel happy experiencing fashion shows,” she said laughingly
She has to stay standby at 4 a.m before performing, so she has to get up around 3 a.m, including preparing herself for a perfect bath. IFW is the biggest fashion week in Indonesia that has been held annually since 2011 at the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta. The event is arranged by Indonesian Fashion Entrepreneurs and Designers Association (APPMI), reflecting and promoting Indonesian culture in fashion. Fashion shows from different designers and fairs are arranged on the occasion. And many Provincial Regional National Crafts Council (Dekranasda) of some provinces throughout the country perform in IFW 2025. “The selection process (becoming the icon of IFW) has taken place since early February, and then, photo sessions and video campaigns. So the preparation has taken for months, and since then (being selected as icon) I have to start focusing on diet, and consuming nutrient-rich foods to support physical needs and appearance. Recently I have been doing an athletic pilates workout to support my performance. Since as an icon, by the time people arrive at the event, they will straight see the banners, flags and pennants showing the face (of icons),” said Vebby Aurelia, who was born in Surabaya, 22 years ago.
About modelling portfolio, especially the events in which she performs, showcasing her work flawlessly for the last three years. She has performed in Jakarta fashion and food festival (JF3) di Kelapa Gading area (north Jakarta), Fashion Nation in Senayan City, Jakarta Fashion Week, etc. there are almost twenty events she has performed in total. She claimed that she can see her career growth recently. Besides, she is still enthusiastic to continue her study for master (S2)’s degree in management and business. Her study should go hand in hand with her career improvement, by working with an agency representing her interests. “I am enjoying my career improvement for the time being. But I wish to continue my study either in Indonesia or foreign country. But if I take my master degree in foreign country, I wish to find an agency in which they can accommodate my career,” said Vebby whose Chinese name is Tham Vee Chen
For her, fashion is not merely a performance, a form of art, but (fashion) is such a powerful and visual way to present and adopt cultural identity throughout the nation. It occurs at IFW 2025, in which many Dekranasda booths present many accessories, garments in which they can display cultural identities from various provinces throughout Indonesia. IFW plays a vital role in promoting and developing the Indonesian creative economy, particularly the fashion industry, both domestically and internationally. “I really can see that, and I feel happy that IFW supports small medium enterprises (UMKM) by promoting many local fashion, handicrafts accessories, etc. by performing in every event, the local fashion products will be known widely, not only throughout the country, but globally as well. This is very impressive for me, even many foreign tourists will get familiar with local handicrafts, fashion during the visit to Indonesia,” said Vebby. (LS/IM)
