Jakarta, September 10, 2024/Indonesia Media – The Association of Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Suppliers (GPHRI) views that it is currently very important to develop an integrated hospitality ecosystem, especially in the supply sector, so that it is highly competitive, both nationally and internationally. In this case, a forum is needed that can function as communication, coordination, and development for members to improve professionalism, quality standards, and efficiency in the supplier industry.

“GPHRI is here to help each other in trade exchange activities such as providing a good orientation process and proper provision for entrepreneurs from China, especially those who want to do business in Indonesia,” said GPHRI Chairperson, Vera Umbara at the Double Tree Hotel, Kemayoran, Jakarta, Tuesday (10/9/2024).

According to Vera, GPHRI’s business fields cover a wide and continuous spectrum, including conception and renovation, such as: Cook and Serve Ware : Equipment for cooking and serving food; renovation : renovation activities to update facilities and needs; Ingredients, food ingredients, including fruits and vegetables from agriculture ( from farm to plate/table ) and seafood products ( from the sea to plate/table ); Coffee and Drinks : Various types of coffee and drinks; Resto and Equipment: Resto and Kitchen Equipment : Restaurant and kitchen equipment; Hospitality Technology : Technology in the hospitality sector; Housekeeping Management: Hotel cleanliness and maintenance management; Chemical and Hygiene ( chemical and hygiene products) required. The hospitality spectrum is very broad, including: physical construction of hotels and restaurants. The physical aspect of hotel and restaurant construction; the resort industry includes 185 derivative industries. “Tourism involves 88 derivative industries; the F&B ( Food and Beverage ) sector, there are 85 derivative industries,” said Vera.

Given the vast spectrum of F&B, ironically there is currently no effective consolidation in this sector. GPHRI is open to collaborating with various parties to jointly drive the progress of this industry. From the supply side, there has also been no adequate consolidation, although the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) has been established for a long time, but specifically there has been no forum that focuses on handling supply.

“In the hospitality spectrum, we can work together to face challenges from foreign players that have the potential to erode the potential of the domestic industry and as we know, uncontrolled business practices have damaged the market,” Vera said.

Structurally, GPHRI consists of the Advisory Board and Honorary Board and the Management Structure is the General Chairperson and Deputy General Chairperson, Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General, General Treasurer and Deputy General Treasurer, and 5 Deputy Chairpersons of the Field/Coordination of the Field including Internal Field; External Field; HR and Innovation; Regulation and Taxation; Halal, BPOM and UMKM, and currently we have around 200 (Two Hundred) members.
