2008 President Inauguration

 On the 26 th October 2007, 5 P.M., Permias Los Angeles held their annual ‘President Commencement Inauguration’ in Konsulat Jendral RI (KJRI) Los Angeles. We had invited Mr. Agusti Anwar, the consulate of education, Mr. Hengky and the other members of consulates.
Larasati Ayu Anggraini, the 2006-2007 President, had done her responsibilities well for the past one year. She had organized major events such as charities for the Yogyakarta, gatherings to reach out students in most major parts of California and many other sociable events in the past one year. Thus, after a year of excellence, it is time to pass down the responsibility to a new President. In the inauguration, Larasati Ayu Anggraini said a word of gratitude to the consulate of KJRI for their constant support and encouragement, and also to the 2006 – 2007 officers for their help and contributions in making all the events possible. It was then time to hand over the book of rights, regulations and responsibilities of Permias Los Angeles to our new President, Kelvan Firman. He is a current business master student in Loyola Marymount University (LMU), and was elected as the 2007 – 2008 President for Permias Los Angeles on Friday, 28 th of September. He made a speech and convinced everyone in three major point that he believed is important for the improvement of our current Permias structure: Network, Reputation and Regeneration. Together with the new officers of 2007 – 2008, he was commited to bring Permias into a better image and name.
 The event was then followed by a speech from Mr. Agusti Anwar, by giving the new 2007 – 2008 Permias officers a word of advice and encouragement. Mr. Hengky , one of our VIPs, made a short speech. He emphasized on the improvement in commitment and unity in each individuals, which should be shown in the Permias community.
The inauguration was ended off with a short presentation from the Ikone. The Ikone is a group of Indonesians in Los Angeles, who had won 2 nd place in the inter-state short movie making competition. They consist of Krishna Putra, Leo Budiraharjo, Yuka Sinata, Aldo Lihiang and Franky. Their movie, which lasted for 6 minutes, was entitled, “Lifetime“. It pictured and
illustrated the death of a young soon-to-be married man, who had just proposed the girl of his life to be his wife. He faced a major and critical car accident due to drunk driving. They are soon coming out with their new movie entitled, “The Gift”.
After the inauguration, there were photo shooting of the 2007 – 2008 Permias community, together with the consulate of KJRI Los Angeles.
